Just got notified from Fujitsu so I am posting now. I haven’t tried it yet so I am sure there will be updates later.
Oct 3, 2016 - Most ScanSnap users can upgrade to Sierra safely, as long as they avoid. Users of Fujitsu's ScanSnap scanners to avoid upgrading to macOS. VueScan is the best way to get your Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M working on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, macOS Mojave, and more. See why over 10.
Fujitsu announces ScanSnap Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Update for ScanSnap, S510M, and S500M. Updating select ScanSnap models listed above is a two part process. The first update restores features associated with ScanSnap Manager and the second update restores features assciated with FineReader for ScanSnap.
Note: These updates are for compatibility with Snow Leopard only. If you are using an earlier Mac OS, do not install these updates. Good luck and please let us know how your installation goes. Update #1 Nov 14/09: Some users are reporting that the patch won’t install because it is saying “could not be installed on this computer because the target ScanSnap Manager is not installed”, even when it is. User Bob in the comments below reports: Make sure your old ScanSnap Manager folder is at the root level in your Applications folder – otherwise the updater will not see it and give you that error message. Update #2 Nov 14/09: As others have mentioned, so far only the ScanSnap Manager portion has been fixed, not the FineReader OCR part.
Looks like that will still be coming. From Fujitsu’s website: Step 7: The download for FineReader for ScanSnap update to Snow Leopard will be hosted by ABBYY but is not yet available. If you have already subscribed to be notified by Fujitsu regarding the Snow Leopard updates, an email will be sent to you when it is posted.
Please click on the following link to be notified by email when the Snow Leopard update for FineReader is available for ScanSnap S1500M and S510M. So, if you are still waiting for the FineReader update, you can sign up for notification from Fujitsu by clicking the link, or, of course, stay tuned here.
Update #3 Nov 19/09: The ABBYY is now available. HI there, I purchased a scan snap 5110EOX2 and have a MAC OS X 10.6. I am just staring to reseach and trial and error game. I have downloaded and installed many scansnap and patches: ScanSnapV22L11 (3).dmg ScanSnapV22L11.dmg ScanSnapV22L12S510MS500MS300M.dmg ScanSnapV22L13-1.dmg ScanSnapV22L13.dmg ScanSnapV22L14.dmg ScanSnapV22L15.dmg ScanSnapV30L20WS1500M (1).dmg ScanSnapV30L20WS1500M (2).dmg ScanSnapV30L20WS1500M.dmg ScanSnapV32L20W.dmg I get the error: 'Cannot run the update because the target ScanSnap Manager is not installed.' I have installed: older managers for different scan snap models, recommended manger, updated mangers, I have moved incompatible scans nap folders & patched to trash and emptied trash, rebooted tired different usb ports kept the scanner off and on during numerous downloads, moved to application floder, moved icon to toolbar(when I did it had a red circle and cross bar over icon) I am new at this and basically trying out different solutions. Does anybody have any advice for me? Hi Cristy, (a) Go here and download V2.2L11: (b) 1.
Make a copy of the ScanSnapV30L20 installer package. Put it somewhere you can modify it, like your desktop. Control-click or right-click on the package, then select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu that appears. That will open a folder showing what is in the package. Open the Contents folder and then the Resources folder.
There should be a file in there called InstallationCheck. Control-click that file and choose Open With from the menu, then select TextEdit. When the file opens, scroll through it until you find a line that reads exit($EXITVALUE); Change that to exit(0); 6. Save the file then try using the installer again. It should now bypass any pre-install checks and just work.
(C) In the scansnap folder, use the Onlineupdate application to update the install. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I’m a single mom on a budget and took a chance buying an open-box Fujistsu S1500M for Mac on ebay. The seller didn’t have a Mac so sold it “as is” since he couldn’t test it. Came with all the CDs and manuals and cords, but he didn’t know for sure if it worked. He had tons of positive feedback going back years so I decided to chance it.

I paid $230 for a brand new Scansnap for my business. I very much needed this to grow my business and so hoped it would work.
Got it and everything seemed ok them when I tried to Save the scan into a folder, the frick-fracking application quit every time. I just about cried at the thought I’d wasted $230 (even though I knew that was a steal IF it worked.) I googled around and found THIS site and thread and installed the patches and VOILA!
П™‚ I am so grateful, thanks a million times!! I had the same problem with the install not working even though my previous version was installed in the Applications folder with the proper name, etc. I did some poking around in the install package and figured out how to fix it. Here's how: 1.
